Do they ever grow up?

Carter received a Bug Habitat for his birthday. It is after 10pm and we hear the boys in their room not sleeping. Cason goes to investigate and Alas they have "rescued" a lizard. Poor, Poor lizard. I offer my advice of letting the lizard go who has been captured...I mean "rescued", Cason has different plans. He waters the lizard and then disappears. I am wondering where Cason has gone and to my surprise he went to catch supper for the lizard. One moth and one grasshopper! So to answer my question..NO, Boys never grow up!!

I Can't believe my ears!

Hayes and I were going down the road on Monday of this week. We were in my mom's car and this is how the conversation went:
Hayes: "Mom, GiGi has birdshit on her window."
Me: (jerking my head his direction) "Hayes, what did you just say?"
Hayes: (never missing a beat) "Gigi has birdshit on her window."
Me: (looking surprised at how casually he said that) "Hayes we do not talk like that, do I need to wash your mouth out?"
Hayes: "No m'am."

Oh the joys and surprises of parenting!

Getting Started!

It seems like life gets busier and busier with each passing year. It is so hard to "keep up" with what is going on with everyone. I decided to begin this blog as a way for others to take a peak into our crazy, hectic and not always pretty life. Life is very busy having 3 boys! I am a mom, doctor, maid, hairdresser, coach, fan, teacher, referee and so much more. I do a lot of refereeing!!
Hayes will be 8 this coming November!! Every year Cason and I look at each other in wonder that we are the parents of an ...year old. We are half way to sixteen, driving, girls, and I don't even want to begin to imagine what else. Hayes takes on the "mothering" role of all of the boys. He somehow believes he is a parent too. He will boss Carter, feed and dress Marshall, and he makes sure he is aware of the plans we have. He is very adult like.
Carter just turned 6! He is kind, gentle, and very sneaky. Hayes takes a lot of blame for things Carter has done because Carter is just that sneaky. Carter is very brave and does not scare easy. Hayes often times makes Carter "go first" in whatever they do. Carter is generally not shy and will befriend anyone.
And then there is Marshall. Sweet, Sweet Marshall. I have so enjoyed going through all of these baby stages again. Marshall is very laid back. He is ALWAYS happy. The boy will smile while he is eating and just let the milk run all down his face and neck. He is a snuggler and loves his mommy. He loves to watch the boys play and they love to play with him. He has the sweetest laugh and his cry barely breaks a whimper.
Cason and I have truly been blessed.
